Cross Premiere & After-Party
NYA East, Los Angeles
Event Eleven
Conceived as a stylized interpretation of Washington, D.C., the after-party environment referenced iconic neighborhood storefronts to define the space’s perimeter and organize seating and circulation.

Developed in close collaboration with fabrication partners, the project translated conceptual design and spatial intent into full-scale, buildable environments.

Motorola Razr Launch Party
Chelsea Factory, NYC
Event Eleven
Designed for the launch of the Motorola Razr, the event centered on a bold, tightly controlled color palette drawn from the phone’s signature colorways. Graphic set pieces, integrated lighting, and custom-fabricated elements created an immersive brand environment.

I led technical and spatial design, translating the concept into buildable structures through spatial planning, dimensional coordination, and fabrication detailing.

Shogun Premiere & After-Party
The Academy Museum
Event Eleven
Supported the design process by translating the production designer’s concepts into illustrated environments for client presentations, clarifying scale, atmosphere, and narrative intent prior to fabrication.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
[early stage spatial concepts and studies exploring narrative, material, and brand-driven environments]

SHEINEarly-stage concepts developed for a proposed SHEIN fashion event. The sketches explore runway-as-landscape scenarios, brand-driven color palettes, and choreographed circulation through lounge, pool, and presentation zones.

Motorola Razr LaunchEarly digital collage studies developed during the initial concept phase of the Motorola Razr launch. Using the phone’s colorways as a starting point, the concepts explored modular lounge environments designed to function as flexible podcast and interview spaces.

Nickelodeon Halloween Maze Concept design for an immersive Halloween maze organized as a sequence of five show-specific environments. Spatial planning, graphics, lighting, and surprise moments create a continuous path through the experience.

ORLANDO / UCLA Visual research for a production design study of Orlando, exploring shifts in period, place, identity, and material language across the narrative.

COLD MOUNTAIN / UCLA Concept development for a stage adaptation of Cold Mountain. A monumental picture frame functions as a transforming scenic device, shifting through image, landscape, light, and material to move between memory and place.

UCLA / PRODUCTION DESIGN THESIS / 2022
An independent production design developed from the screenplay prior to the film’s 2022 release.

CONCEPT The Menu imagines an exclusive restaurant as a study in control: a seductive environment that gradually reveals itself as something more rigid and predetermined. Architecture guides guests through a prescribed sequence of spaces, creating the illusion of choice while quietly removing it. Warm, elemental materials ground the restaurant in its remote natural setting while introducing a sense of unease.

PERFORMANCE The restaurant was conceived as a performance space, with a proscenium-like threshold separating the kitchen from the dining room. Operable panels control views into the kitchen, allowing the space to shift between concealment and spectacle. The kitchen becomes a stage and the preparation of each course a choreographed act, positioning guests as both diners and audience.

OBSERVATION Living and working spaces continue the same logic of controlled visibility. Framed openings position occupants alternately as observer and subject, extending the relationship between audience and performance beyond the restaurant.

CHEF’S SECRET ROOM-INTERIOR

SPECTACLE/VALUE

Spectatorship and prescribed value—how context, exclusivity, and collective belief determine what we perceive as desirable. These ideas informed the restaurant as both dining room and stage.
CONTROL/INNER WORLD

Chef’s pursuit of perfection is explored through control, repetition, and the tension between natural systems and imposed order. Fibonacci geometry and recursive forms became a way of visualizing his inner world.

COSTUME DESIGN Each guest was designed as a heightened version of themselves, using dress to reveal their relationship to the restaurant and its rituals—from conformity and ceremony to deliberate outsider status.

Select renderings were developed from my original 3D models and compositions, with AI-assisted refinement to lighting, atmosphere, material detail, and figures.
